Call for Abstracts

IASSA Award Paper Guidelines

The Indian Association of Surgeons for Sleep Apnoea (IASSA) encourages academic excellence by recognizing outstanding scientific contributions through award paper categories. Each award is named in honor of distinguished academicians and leaders in the field of sleep surgery. The following are the detailed guidelines for submission and presentation:

General Presentation Guidelines

  • Eligibility: Award papers - ENT Surgeon, Free Paper - open to all speciality.
  • Only scientific papers related to sleep-related breathing disorders will be accepted.
  • Each presenter may submit only one abstract per category.
  • All accepted abstract presenters (presenting author) must be registered for the conference.
  • Presentations competing for medals must strictly avoid any references that reveal personal or institutional identity, acknowledgments, or disclosures that may provide undue advantage. Such presentations will not be considered for evaluation.
  • Adherence to the allotted time is mandatory, and candidates exceeding the time limit will also be disqualified from evaluation.
  • The Scientific Committee reserves the right to reject any abstract/poster they deem unfit.
  • The decision of the Scientific Committee and judges will be final and binding.
  • Abstract format (same for all categories):
    • Less than 300 words
    • MS Word, Times New Roman, Font size 12
    • Sections: Title of study, Aim, Methodology, Results, Conclusion

Award Paper Categories

Dr. R. Vidyasagar Consultant Award Paper
  • Eligibility: Consultants who have completed at least 3 years after post-graduation.
  • Presentation Time: 7 + 2 minutes.
Dr. Vijaya Krishnan Resident Award Paper
  • Eligibility: Postgraduates or within 3 years after post-graduation.
  • Bonafide certificate from HOD or degree certificate to be uploaded.
  • Presentation Time: 5 + 2 minutes.
Dr. Sandeep Bansal Poster Award Paper
  • Poster Format: Only one PowerPoint slide in the official template.
  • Restrictions: No videos, GIFs, or animations.
  • Presentation Time: 3 + 2 minutes.
Dr. Dipankar Datta Video Award Paper
  • Eligibility: Consultants who have completed at least 3 years after post-graduation.
  • Format: Video in MP4 format showcasing surgical technique/innovation related to SRBD.
  • Presentation Time: 5 + 2 minutes.
IASSA Free Paper
  • Eligibility: Open to postgraduates, senior residents, and consultants.
  • Presentation Time: 5 + 2 minutes.
ISSS Award Papers

ISSS Oral Presentation Award Paper

  • Eligibility: Open to postgraduates, senior residents, and consultants.
  • Presentation Time: 5 + 2 minutes.

ISSS Poster Award Paper

  • Poster Format: Only one PowerPoint slide in the official template.
  • Restrictions: No videos, GIFs, or animations.
  • Presentation Time: 3 + 2 minutes.

Important Dates to Remember

  • Last date for submission of abstracts for Medal Papers: 31st December 2025
  • Announcement of abstract acceptance: 15th January 2026
  • Last date for conference registration: 31st January 2026
